We Have a Surgery Date

Isn't he the most precious boy ever?

We DO have a surgery date for Rowan.  Rowan's surgery will be on April 19th at 8:15am.  We have to be there 2 hours early and we're probably looking at being there 2-3 nights. We have 1 pre-op appointment (I need to make today!) with anesthesia and I have to set up blood donation with the Red Cross.  The surgeon has to use blood sometimes and says parents often give a unit of blood (if they match the baby) so their baby can have their blood.  I'm glad it's still far enough away for me to not really think much about it yet.  We're mainly focusing on day to day with our 2 adorable kiddos.

Rocking my two precious bebe's.

So, how was your weekend?  Ours was as laid back as it gets around here.  Friday night we spent time with the family.  Rowan and Elliot wore their darling Peas and Carrots shirts and we couldn't help but get a million pictures of them together.  My mother-in-law was correct when she said that this was the first of many silly matching outfits we'll put on these boys.  I will not deny this.

Other than dressing up our boys in cute outfits we just did some cleaning, shopping with my Mom and sister (which was fun!) and dinner with my grandparents on Saturday night.  We also made several trips to the park to swing and go down the slide. I love that we have a park in walking distance from my house because  my girl LOVES to swing and go down the slide.  I'm amazed at how brave she is to go down this slide alone!

Giggling with Mimi before sliding down all by herself!

This should be a busy week for us!  I kept with my goals from last week and made my 3 workouts and one long walk.  I've been drinking TONS of water and making better food choices...not perfect, but MUCH better.  My workouts are planned for this week and I"m sticking to it!  Tonight night we'll have family dinner (one of my favorite nights), Wednesday Rylie has school, Thursday Rylie has her first speech therapy session and I have a coffee date with Amy and Kathlyn and Friday is another school day.  I'm telling you the weeks FLY by around here.  In the meantime I'm trying to enjoy every delicious moment with my kids.  I know they will not be little forever.  I came across this poem and it made me think.  Stop focusing so much so much of my life on the toys on the floor or dishes in the sink.  Have a great Tuesday!
Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I’ve grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
    (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
    (Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew
And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo
But I’m playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren’t her eyes the most wonderful hue?
    (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

  3. Love the poem!! I was doing a bible study last night and one of the phrases Beth Moore said was It's not about a life full of activities, but a Life full of Jesus! made me remember it doesnt matter what I do and dont get done, but that we love and honor the Lord in all that we do! and that includes loving on our little ones :) Youre such a great mommy and a fabulous friend! Praying for continued peace with Rowan and his surgery. Love you!
