Our Weekend in Pictures

It was another fun and busy weekend here in the Griffith household.  Friday night my sister and brother-in-law invited us over to dinner at their house.  We had such a fun time with them hanging out and having a delicious meal.  My sister sure is a great cook!  Saturday morning Rylie woke up first (Rowan was asleep and Daddy was too because he takes the first night shift with Rowan) so I slung her into our big bed and we had fun being lazy in bed.  I can't wait until we have a bigger house and a tv in my bedroom, then we'll definitely do Saturday morning cartoons in bed  =)

Eventually we all got up and going because we had a busy day, it was Jason's birthday!  We had fun giving Daddy his presents and then it was time for housework.  Trying to catch up on laundry and cleaning up around here is a big job. It's amazing how fast this house can get messy and how piled up laundry can get with two big people and two little people.  I finally got in the shower and when I came out this is what I found.

Daddy and both kids watching Yo Gabba Gabba...SO cute.

After Jason got a shower he needed to do some work downstairs in his make shift office so I took a few pictures of Rowan with his new blankie.  My fantastic mother-in-law crocheted it for him and it's SO beautiful! Rylie has 2 crocheted blankets that she loves and she wasn't about to share one with Rowan, so now Rowan has his very own.  Thanks Momily-in-Law!!

Cutest baby ever with his new blankie from Mae Mae!

For Jason's birthday he wanted a date with me and then dessert with family at my Nana's house.  I decided that for dessert I'd make The Pioneer Woman's Cherry Cake Pudding.  Um. DELICIOUS.  While I made the cake Rylie had her quiet time but a certain little boy wasn't sleepy at all so he "helped" me make it.  See, this is my helper and I headed into the kitchen.

I face him out so that he can look around and he only wants to look up at his Mama  =)

I didn't get any finished pictures of the Cherry Cake but let me tell you, it was amazing.  It was definitely more like cake than pudding, but OH so good! There was cool whip and cherry sauce involved and will someone please come get it from my fridge before I eat another piece.  Here is a picture of it before it went into the oven.  You can check out the original recipe to see a picture of the finished product.

Jason and I went to Mongo for dinner which is a Mongolian Grill.  We chose it because it's generally healthy. I had brown rice and then I filled a bowl with all sorts of veggies, a small bowl with chicken and shrimp and a tiny bowl with sauce (I chose spicy peanut sauce and chili sauce) and they cook it up and bring it to you.  Mine was chock full of veggies and delicious!  After dinner we headed over to Nana's and met everyone for cake!

Here is Rylie helping Daddy read his cards.

We had such a great day and I think Jason had a great birthday as well.  I'm SO blessed to have known him almost 5 years of his life and I hope there are many more years to come because he is the most wonderful Daddy/Husband in the world!

This week is going to be very busy.  Today I have a doctor's appointment (Amy and Nana will watch my bebe's) then Wednesday Rowan has his 2 month check up at the pediatrician, very excited to see how much he's grown!  And on Friday I think I'll be heading up to Atlanta with Amy and hopefully Kathlyn to meet The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond at a book signing!  I can't even tell you how exciting that is. I just love her and the thought of a fun day with the girls (and Rowan)?  Whoohoo!

So how was ya'lls weekend?  Anyone else want to meet us in Atlanta on Friday? It'll be fun and you know it!!  Have a great Monday ya'll!
